I am currently in the process of seeking an agent to help promote my work.
I write stand-alone humorous MG and Chapter Book fantasies that have series potential. These stories have an innocent, old-fashioned "Can-do!" bent with strong influences from the works of Norton Juster, P.L. Travers, and the cartoons of Max Fleischer.
Currently, I am editing and condensing my personal blog, THE KNACK OF FLYING: The Life and Times of a Woman Without a Clue for publication. The title is taken from a quote by Douglas Adams: "The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground...and miss." -- Douglas Adams. Six years ago, I discovered I was pregnant. One week later, I gave birth to a full-term, eight pound, three oz. son. Told in a style similar to Erma Bombecks, this is a gallow's humor account of my first four years of motherhood and all of the joys and terrors of being an Insta-Mommy (Just add stress and Stir!).
I am also in the process of writing AGGIE WINKUM AND THE NOT-KNOWS, a chapter book fantasy that takes its inspiration from the Egyptian description of the human soul.
I also write free verse poetry about motherhood and my life experiences.
